Vladimir Shatalov is a cosmonaut who was born on December 8, 1927, in
Shatalov became a cosmonaut in 1963. He has spent over 10 days in
space on three spaceflights.
In 1969, Shatalov flew aboard Soyuz 4. He docked with the Soyuz 5 spacecraft
during this mission. Later in that year, Shatalov flew aboard Soyuz 8.
In 1971, Shatalov made his third flight aboard Soyuz 10. The crew docked with
the Salyut 1 space station, but were unable to open the hatch.
