Light Terrain of Ganymede
This image shows an example of the light terrain of Ganymede. The image shows the contrast between the light terrain and the dark terrain of Ganymede. The light terrain is where the grooves of Ganymede are found. This lighter region of Ganymede is called Uruk Sulcus. It is evidently a younger area of Ganymede because the craters have been wiped out by changes. The Galileo spacecraft, on an exploratory mission, specifically targetted Uruk Sulcus, to examine the surface for changes.
