Abe Silverstein
Abe Silverstein was born in 1908. He worked for the National Advisory
Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). He then worked for NASA when it was
formed from NACA.
Dr. Silverstein ran the Centaur program. He developed a rocket engine
that used liquid hydrogen fuel. The engines he developed were used to
help launch the
Apollo missions
to the moon.
