The ocean and diving has always been a part of my life! Since a young age, I loved and had a fascination with the natural world. My father was an admiral for the Venezuelan navy, so our family spent summers and every possible holiday in La Orchila, a Caribbean island that serves as a Venezuelan naval base that even has a pink sanded beach!
I spent every summer there for 18 years, and that free interaction with nature became my microscope and telescope to see and learn about our planet and space. We would swim freely aside all kinds of fish and watch turtles nest, and I even had a crab collection. It's what got me fascinated with nature and science and the wonders of the ocean. Ramon Llaneza, is my brother in law and a renown diving instructor. I met Ramon at age 18 and he diving instructor for Scuba Diving and I got most of my knowledge from his teachings. I am a IANTD & CMAS certified diver.
Now I live in Boulder, Colorado at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and I am fond to hiking and skiing in Colorado, but every year, once a year, I join my family in Florida and together with my nieces and nephew I enjoy trips and keep learning and admiring the underwater and wonder of this magic world!
