Atlantis Returns Home
News story originally written on October 7, 1997

The shuttle Atlantis returned home on Monday. It was a perfect landing.

The main goal of this shuttle mission was to pick up Michael Foale at the space station Mir and return him home to Earth. Astronaut David Wolf is now staying on Mir.

Foale was in space for 145 days! That's a long time isn't it?! He is very excited to be home. He will soon get to see his wife and 2 kids who he missed very much during those 145 days. The first thing that Foale wants to do with his family is to celebrate with a special dinner of hamburgers and some steaming-hot pizza.
