Tropical Rain Forest Birds
There are many pretty birds in the tropical rain forest. There are over 300 species of parrot in the rain forest. The scarlet macaw is one of the biggest ones. It can reach 3 feet in length.
Toucans are also in the rain forest. You may have seen the cartoon figure Toucan Sam on the front of Froot Loops boxes. Well, toucans really do have cool beaks! Their beaks are long so they can reach the fruit on trees.
Not all birds are pretty. The brown kiwi is brown and doesn't have wings. It runs around on the ground looking for food.
