Giant Meteor Hits Greenland?
News story originally written on December 22, 1997
Suppose you saw a giant flash of light in the sky last night. It was so bright that the night almost seemed like day! What would you think it was? Lightning? A UFO?
A flash like this happened in Greenland last week! Scientists think that this flash of light was made by a meteor coming through our atmosphere. A meteor is big rock that falls from outer space to the Earth.
Scientists are interested in finding the meteor (this kind of thing doesn't happen every day!). The meteor was buried by a lot of snow though...so the search is on!
