The Stones of Fossa
The stone rings and tombs of
England and
France are very famous. But, there are also
stone structures in Italy. There are some neat stones in Fossa, Italy. They are standing stones.
These stones form circles and straight lines. They are also arranged from biggest to smallest, so they look like a staircase!
The stones in Fossa are very old. They were probably put into place by the Vestini tribe between 1,000-800 B.C.
It's likely that these stones marked a graveyard for this ancient tribe.
