Cuzco
Cuzco is a city in Peru. It was the capital of
the ancient Inca Empire. In ancient times, Cuzco was the center of the Inca road network which was made up of about 40,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) of roads - that's over 10 times the distance from New York City to Los Angeles, California!
Lots of the buildings in ancient Cuzco were linked to astronomy. Some of the buildings were used to watch the the stars, especially the Sun.
The ancient city of Cuzco even had a Temple of the Sun at its very center.
