Coral growth rates in the Caribbean were affected by volcanic aerosol emissions in the early 20th century and by aerosol emissions caused by humans in the later 20th century. NASA's Earth Observatory tracks wildfires across the world with <a href="http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/GlobalMaps/view.php?d1=MOD14A1_M_FIRE" target="_blank">maps available for viewing</a> from 2000-present. Some wildfires can restore <a href="/earth/ecosystems.html">ecosystems</a> to good health, but many can threaten human populations, posing a natural disaster threat.</p>

Windows to the Universe School Subscription Options

Windows to the Universe offers schools the option to purchase subscriptions for teachers, with discounts for six or more teachers as well as multi-year subscriptions.

Schools can select a range of different subscription levels depending on the needs of their teachers. Some teachers may just want a Basic Educator subscription for the teacher alone (advertising-free plus additional member benefits), while others may need a Silver Educator (including course support for one or more courses) or a Gold Educator subscription (with course support including quizzes and homework and individual student subscriptions). Some teachers may need course support for only one course, while others may need course support for more than one course. A Classroom membership provides separate accounts for students but no course support.
