James Voss

James Voss is an American astronaut who was born on March 3, 1949, in Alabama. Before he became an astronaut, Voss was a Naval test pilot.

Voss became an astronaut in 1989. He has spent over 600 hours in space on three spaceflights.

In 1991, Voss flew aboard STS-44. Voss made his second flight aboard STS-53 in 1992. Both of these flights were Department of Defense missions.

Voss flew aboard STS-69 in 1995. Voss performed a 7 hour spacewalk during this mission.
