Leningrad.
Rozhdestvensky became a cosmonaut in 1965. He flew aboard Soyuz 23 in 1976. The
crew was forced to return to
Earth due to some technical problems. The spacecraft landed in a lake. The crew had to spend 11 hours floating
in the frigid waters before being rescued.
