Viktor Afanasyev
Viktor Afanasyev is a cosmonaut who was born on December 31, 1948, in
Bryansk, Russia.
Afanasyev became a cosmonaut in 1985. He has spent over 175 days in
space on a single spaceflight.
In 1990, Afanseyev flew aboard Soyuz TM-11. The crew docked with the
Russian Mir Space Station. Afanasyev and a fellow cosmonaut stayed
aboard Mir while the rest of the crew flew back to Earth after 8 days.
Afanasyev took four spacewalks during this mission. He spent over 21
hours walking in space.
