Maya astronomers had a remarkably accurate knowledge of the apparent motion of <a href="/venus/venus.html&edu=high&dev=1/earth/Atmosphere/moons/triton_atmosphere.html">Venus</a>. They knew on what day Venus would appear again in the east after it had disappeared in the west.
