The picture on this page shows what the inside of Ganymede looks like. Scientists have made this model based on measurements by the Galileo spacecraft. The picture shows a samll core of metal (silver), then some rocky material (brown), then some ice (blue).
Using Galileo, scientists also found that Ganymede has a strong magnetic field - the first time this was ever measured near any moon!
