Astronauts May Eat Insects
News story originally written on September 3, 1999
Have you ever eaten a worm for breakfast? Maybe you ate a cricket for a snack? You might think that's gross, but in many countries bugs are eaten all the time!
Bugs are very healthy and a lot of them can be carried in one bucket. So astronauts may one day take bugs in space to eat! It's a lot easier than taking a cow to the Moon!
In Mexico, the favorite bugs are bees, ants and grasshoppers. So the next time you see one on the ground, maybe you should have it for a snack!
