This has been an exciting month of celebrations. First, Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 2001. Then,
Sun-Earth Day was celebrated April 27th-28th! Now, it's time to celebrate
Space Day starting on May 3, 2001!
Space Day is the global celebration dedicated to the extraordinary achievements, benefits and opportunities in the exploration and use of space. On the first Thursday in May, people of all ages come together to advance education in science, math and technology and to inspire youngsters to realize the vision of our space pioneers.
Space Day 2001 will be celebrated on May 3, 2001, with Cyber Space Day. This two-hour interactive webcast will allow kids and space enthusiasts to learn about living and working in space from the pros. Viewers can interact via email with guests including Senator
John Glenn, and Roger Crouch, the senior scientist of the Cyber Space Day. Cyber Space Day will take place from 12-2 p.m. (ET).
The odyssey continues in 2001 with a new series of Design Challenges of living and working in space. Students will love these challenges!
