Prospector Reaches the Moon

The Lunar Prospector has reached the Moon
. The Prospector completed its third orbital maneuver this morning. One more lunar orbit insertion (LOI) burn will be necessary before the spacecraft is in its final mapping orbit.
The current spacecraft status is healthy, with all instruments on. Communication with Prospector is stable.
A one-hour press conference and status briefing will occur at NASA Ames, 12 noon EST live on NASA Television.
