Different types of ultraviolet "light" have different wavelengths. This diagram illustrates the wavelengths of typical waves in different regions of the UV spectrum. Short wavelengths correspond to higher frequencies and higher energies, while longer waves oscillate at lower frequencies and carry less energy. Red and blue waves from the visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum are also shown for comparison.
