Poetry and Pictures - Weather

Claude Monet was interested in painting weather and light when he created this painting called The Beach at Sainte-Adresse in 1867. He used large brushstrokes of soft white and blue to depict these altocumulus clouds that look like little puffs.

Today's Highlighted Poem

Altocumulus
by Rebecca, age 11, San Francisco, CA

Sails tilt toward shore
Where sand meets waves
Beach of boats, buildings
But still clouds billow
Soft pillows, surrounded by
Monet's many blues
