Vladimir Shatalov

Vladimir Shatalov is a cosmonaut who was born on December 8, 1927, in Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan.

Shatalov became a cosmonaut in 1963. He has spent over 10 days in space on three spaceflights. In 1969, Shatalov flew aboard Soyuz 4. He docked with the Soyuz 5 spacecraft during this mission. Later in that year, Shatalov flew aboard Soyuz 8. This was one of three Soyuz spacecraft in orbit simultaneously.

In 1971, Shatalov made his third flight aboard Soyuz 10. The crew docked with the Salyut 1 space station, but were unable to open the hatch.
