Rhea Seddon
Rhea Seddon is an American astronaut who was born on November 8, 1947, in
Tennessee.
Before she became an astronaut, Seddon worked as an emergency room doctor
in Tennessee.
Seddon became an astronaut in 1979. She has spent over 722 hours in
space aboard three spacecraft.
Seddon made her first flight aboard STS 51-D in 1985. This mission had
the first unscheduled spacewalk in Shuttle history. In 1991, Seddon flew
aboard STS-40.
Seddon made her third spaceflight aboard STS-58 in 1993.
The crew performed several medical experiments during both of these missions.
