Story Musgrave

Story Musgrave is an astronaut who was born on August 19, 1935, in Massachusetts. Before he became an astronaut, Musgrave was an Air Force pilot. He has logged over 17,000 hours of flight time in 160 types of aircraft.

Musgrave became an astronaut in 1967. He has spent over 1282 hours on 6 spacecraft.

In 1983, Musgrave made his first spaceflight aboard STS-6. This was the first voyage of the Challenger shuttle. He flew aboard Mission 51-F in 1985.

Musgrave made his third spaceflight aboard STS-33 in 1989. In 1992, Musgrave flew aboard STS-44. This was a Department of Defense mission.

In 1993, Musgrave flew aboard STS-61. The crew made repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope. He made his last flight aboard STS-80 in 1996.
