Rocket and Top Secret Satellite Explode!
News story originally written on August 12, 1998

An 18-story tall Titan rocket exploded today less than a minute after take-off. The rocket costed $350 million and the satellite costed $1 billion.

Why did the satellite cost more than the rocket? It's a secret! Most people think that the satellite that exploded was a reconnaissance satellite (or what most people call a spy satellite!).

The U.S. rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Investigations by the U.S. Air Force will begin immediately.
