Solar Wind Putting the Squeeze on Earth's Atmosphere

NASA scientists used the Polar spacecraft to show that air was leaving our atmosphere. Solar storms push part of our air into space.

Scientists saw that a lot of air was pushed into space right after a coronal mass ejection. This happened in September, 1998. But don't worry--we have more than enough air!
