Koala Bears on Endangered List
News story originally written on May 15, 2000

Have you ever seen a koala bear? Unless you live in Australia, you have to go to the zoo in order to see one. But the koala bears in Australia are dying, so the United States and Australia are trying to save them.

The U.S. put koalas on the endangered list. The endangered list is full of animals that are dying out. By putting them on the list, scientists hope they can help save the koalas.
