News story originally written on July 16, 1999
The Space Shuttle Columbia will launch in a few days. Eileen Collins will be the first woman to ever head a shuttle mission. The crew will put a new telescope in space called the Chandra X Observatory.
The Chandra is a lot like the Hubble Space Telescope, but better. It will look into the deepest parts of the universe.
